Acceptable Use Policy
Effective: 2026-06-01 · Version: 0.1.0 (lawyer review pending)
Crumpert is a place for finance creators and readers. To keep it useful, certain content and behaviour are not allowed. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
1. What's not allowed
Illegal or fraudulent activity
- Content that violates applicable law, sanctions regimes, or court orders
- Fraud, scams, deceptive advertising, "guaranteed-returns" claims, pyramid schemes
- Money laundering, terrorism financing
Market integrity
- Pump-and-dump schemes of any kind — coordinated promotion of a position you intend to liquidate into reader interest
- Insider information — non-public material information that you are not authorised to share
- Market manipulation under the UK / EU Market Abuse Regulation or US securities laws (spoofing, layering, wash trading, fictitious orders)
- Posting positions you do not actually hold while implying otherwise
Misrepresentation
- Impersonating another person, brand, or regulated firm
- Claiming to be a regulated investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial firm without proper authorisation
- Forging or doctoring trade tickets, P&L screenshots, or broker statements
Harassment and harmful content
- Targeted harassment, doxxing (publishing someone's home address, phone number, etc.), threats of violence
- Hate speech, slurs, or content promoting hatred based on protected characteristics
- Sexual content, especially anything involving minors (CSAM is reported to the relevant authorities)
Spam and abuse
- Automated scraping, mass-following, or bot accounts
- Repetitive low-effort content posted to game ranking
- Affiliate / referral spam not material to the post
Security and platform abuse
- Trying to break, reverse-engineer, or bypass the Service's security
- Probing other users' accounts or harvesting their data
- Uploading malware, phishing links, or content designed to compromise readers' devices
2. What we will do
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice when the situation warrants it:
- Remove the content
- Limit reach (e.g. exclude from Top List / Growing) without removing it
- Warn or temporarily suspend the account
- Permanently terminate the account for serious or repeated breaches
- Report to law enforcement or regulators when required by law
For most one-off breaches we'll warn first and explain. For serious or repeated breaches (CSAM, doxxing, market manipulation, fraud) we act first and explain after.
3. Reporting a violation
Every post and comment on Crumpert has a Report button. You can also email moderation@crumpert.com. Reports are reviewed within 2 business days for routine cases; same-day for urgent harm (threats, CSAM).
When you report, please include:
- A link to the content or profile
- Which rule you believe it breaks
- Any context (screenshots, links to context elsewhere) that helps us assess
We may share your report (without your identity, unless required by law) with the user being reported.
4. Appeals
If we remove your content or restrict your account and you believe we got it wrong, you can appeal to appeals@crumpert.com within 30 days. A different reviewer will reassess. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
5. Note for finance creators
Posting trade ideas, opinion, and analysis is the whole point of Crumpert. The line we're drawing is between publishing an opinion (allowed) and promoting a position to readers as if it were advice you stand behind in a regulated capacity (not allowed unless you actually are regulated and disclose it). Use the per-post disclaimer ("Opinion. Not advice.") that Crumpert renders automatically — don't override it.
If you're a creator and you're unsure whether something you want to post is allowed, email moderation@crumpert.com before posting.
